Reality Engine works with node based compositing pipeline, it is very important to understand the types of node selections and what actions can be performed. In Reality Engine version 4.25, now it is more easier to manage and understand selection of nodes for working with its properties or selection for other functions like delete, duplicate, copy etc. The newly added or duplicated node will appear on foreground and will be selected in view mode with its properties exposed.

Let’s understand 3 modes of node selection:

View mode: The node is selected exposing its properties and functions. (usually by clicking left mouse button and then clicking anywhere outside the node area)

Node with yellow boundary

View selection mode: The node is selected exposing its properties and functions. (usually by clicking left mouse button). The node is currently in focus.

Node with yellow boundary and Blue tint

Selection mode: The node(s) are selected which won’t expose properties and functions. This is generally used for Delete, Duplicate, Copy etc. (usually by right mouse click or dragging mouse over it). Multiple nodes can be selected in this mode.

Node with Blue tint only, without yellow boundary

Unselected mode: Below is unselected node

Selected node(s), single and multiple can be deleted using the keyboard DELETE button.
